Deputy Minister Igor Sekreta meets with the Austrian-Belarusian Society

On 18 June 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sekreta met in Vienna with the leading members of the Austrian-Belarusian Society and its new Chairman, Dieter Reinisch, a distinguished Austrian historian and journalist.

The friendly meeting took place at the Embassy of Belarus. Igor Sekreta noted the Society's successes and achievements, emphasizing that this year it is celebrating its twentieth anniversary and has throughout this period remained a reliable pillar of mutual understanding and sincere dialogue between the peoples of the two countries.

The Deputy Minister presented Professor Peter Bachmaier, the founder and Honorary Chairman of the Society, with the Certificate of Honour of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in recognition of his many years of contribution to strengthening Belarusian-Austrian friendship.
