On the 19th session of the UNIDO General Conference

On November 29, 2021, the 19th session of the General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) opened at the Vienna International Center (Austria).

The biennial conference is the main principal organ of the UN specialized agency for industrial development, which determines the guiding principles and policies of the Organisation.

The session will consider the reports of the Director General on the work of the organisation, approve a number of program and budget documents, including the medium-term programme framework of UNIDO for 2022 – 2025 and the budget of the organisation for the next two years. In addition, in the year of its 55th anniversary, the UNIDO General Conference will also appoint a new head of the organisation, who will be the representative of Germany, Gerd Müller.

The Belarusian delegation at this event is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Aleinik.

The programme of the Belarusian delegation includes delivering the statements by S.Aleinik during the plenary sessions of the Conference, as well as a number of bilateral meetings with the leadership of international organisations in Vienna.
