Belarus took part in the International Forum in Vienna on сombating transnational crime in a multipolar world
15.10.2024On October 15, 2024, the Vienna International Center (Austria) hosted a thematic forum “Topical issues of organizing international cooperation to combat transnational crime in a multipolar world”, organized by the Russian Federation.
The thematic forum was held on the sidelines of the 12th session of the Conference of the Countries Participating of the UN Convention against transnational organised crime (Vienna, October 14-18, 2024). Representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the UN office in Vienna, participants of national delegations to the conference, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations took part in the thematic event.

The participants of the thematic event comprehensively considered the problems arising in international cooperation in the implementation of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, and possible forms and directions of further joint work on combating international crime.
A. Silvestrovich informed about the efforts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to develop international cooperation in combating transnational organized crime in current conditions. A. Silvestrovich emphasized the negative impact of the international political order on the effectiveness of international law enforcement cooperation and the need to intensify international dialogue on various aspects of international security.
In order to establish an adequate and interested dialogue between states “in the spirit of San Francisco”, A. Silvestrovich invited all interested parties to international thematic conferences organized by Belarus — the Second International Conference on Ensuring Eurasian Security (October 31 — November 1, 2024) and the international conference “Measures taken in the Republic of Belarus to counter illegal migration, and best practices in promoting regional cooperation in solving this problem” (November 15, 2024).
