Participation of Belarus in the session of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space

In Vienna, on June 1-10, 2022 the 65th session of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space takes place. More than one hundred delegations of UN Member States, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations participate in the work of the Committee.

The Belarusian delegation at the session includes representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Belarus to International organizations in Vienna.

On June 6, 2022, within the framework of the general exchange of views at the Committee session, the Belarusian delegation made a speech on the topic “National Space Program: monitoring, ecology, education".

The session participants were informed about the exploration and use of outer space in Belarus, the operation of the Belarusian Space System for Remote Sensing of the Earth and the prospects for its development, including the creation of a Russian-Belarusian high-detail survey spacecraft and a Russian-Belarusian space system based on it.

The speech noted the activities of the Committee as an example of successful interaction of states in the UN for the search of collective solutions.
