On the meeting of Ms I. Velichko with Mr. D. Brandolino, Director of the Division of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime

On June 30, 2025, Ms Irina Velichko, Director General of the Main Department of Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, met with Mr. John Brandolino, Director of the Division for Treaty Affairs at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

Mr. D. Brandolino highly appreciated the role of Belarus as an initiator of the consolidation of international efforts to combat human trafficking and noted the fruitful nature of the long-term cooperation between UNODC and Belarus in this area.

Ms I. Velichko noted the significant contribution of UNODC to assisting States in implementing existing multilateral instruments and strengthening legal and institutional capacities, confirming Belarus' support for the activities of UNODC.

During the conversation, issues of further cooperation between UNODC and Belarus in Vienna and New York were discussed, primarily on coordinating international efforts to combat human trafficking, including organizing thematic events.

Mr. D. Brandolino and Ms. I. Velichko noted the existence of good potential and promising areas for further expansion of cooperation between UNODC and Belarus.
