Deputy Minister I. Sekreta meets Secretary General of the OSCE Feridun Sinirlioğlu

On 17 June 2026, a meeting took place in Vienna between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sekreta and Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Feridun Sinirlioğlu.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the situation within the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and in its area of responsibility, internal processes within the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and ways to restore its role, as well as issues related to the practical interaction of Belarus with the institutions and executive structures of the Organization.

Igor Sekreta emphasized that Belarus remains open to cooperation with the institutions of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe on humanitarian issues and electoral matters, as well as on issues concerning the activities of the mass media and journalists, while insisting on a dialogue based on mutual respect and professionalism.

The Belarusian diplomat highly appreciated the personal role of Feridun Sinirlioğlu in efforts aimed at restoring the normal functioning of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and strengthening its role in the settlement of situations related to security threats in the region.

Igor Sekreta stressed that, for Belarus, the use of the authority of international organizations to promote a divisive agenda is unacceptable, including the invitation to events of persons suspected of extremist activities.

The Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe was handed a personal invitation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus to take part in the Fourth Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, which will be held in Minsk in November 2026.

Igor Sekreta heads the Belarusian delegation at the Annual Security Review Conference, which is being held on 17–18 June 2026 at the headquarters of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in Vienna. The Annual Security Review Conference serves as a key platform for discussing regional security issues and strengthening dialogue among the 57 participating States of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
