Permanent Representative of Belarus to the OSCE meets with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media

On February 16, 2021 Permanent Representative of Belarus to the OSCE, Andrei Dapkiunas, met with the new OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Teresa Ribeiro.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the state of freedom of the media and safety of journalists in Belarus and in the OSCE area.

Andrei Dapkiunas stated the openness of Belarusian to discussing the entire range of issues related to the mandate of the OSCE Representative and expressed hope for the continued honest, responsible and respectful dialogue of Belarus with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media.

In this context, the parties agreed to establish direct interaction between the office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media and relevant Belarusian organisations.
