Participation of Belarus in the session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

On May 16-20, 2022 the 31st session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice takes place. More than one hundred delegations of UN Member States, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations participate in the work of the Commission.

The delegation of Belarus is headed by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to International Organizations in Vienna. The delegation includes representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus.

On May 16, 2022 Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus M. Voronin made a video statement within the framework of the general debates at the Commission session.

In his speech, M. Voronin informed about the criminogenic situation in Belarus and about measures to prevent and combat crime. Не stressed the necessity of strengthening international cooperation in combating current challenges, observance of the principles of equal dialogue and mutual trust.

M. Voronin drew the attention of participants of the session to the problems of increasing illegal migration and human trafficking, as well as to the efforts made by Belarus to provide humanitarian support to refugees, including those who arrived from the territory of Ukraine.
